MANDATORY EDUCATION FOR A DEMOCRACY

First of all, it’s important to understand that what school children are taught in primary schools is the comic book version of what happened, through the lens of propagandists who, of course, want to make American History look as though we (our country) can do no wrong.

There’s no greater evidence of this trend than to examine our own US Government, especially the Congress, where every statement is subject to “spin”, a deliberate distortion, if not outright lying and misrepresentation of the facts.

A government that can’t be believed or trusted is no government at all, it’s a corrupt organization, a racket. *

*Racket – search for USMC Gen Smedley Butler, “War Is a Racket”.

Political influencers must not be allowed to determine the contents of history books and related educational materials, and it is essential that students of American history learn all the facts of our historical past, including the things we must be ashamed of, else we suffer to repeat these abuses later on.

What alternatives are there?

Plenty, but most have a an agenda. There are an almost infinite number of “think tanks”, advisory groups, associations and foundations which exist to present as historical fact their particular take on the collection of facts as well as the context associated with historical events, often polar opposite interpretations of the significance of the event and its effects.

The most important single aspect of education needs is to train students of history, and the general population, how to recognize propaganda when it is presented, who’s presenting it and who’s financing it.
