We are being destroyed from within, we’re doing it to ourselves, and there’s not a thing you can do to stop it.

Mankind has distinguished itself by greed, not the kind portrayed as desirable by Ayn Rand, but the kind of greed that amasses all the world’s wealth into the holdings of the super rich, individuals, corporations and institutions. *

These are legal instances of graft, greed and corruption, an endless cycle enabled because and made legal by the very same individuals who make the laws, the very same individuals who carve out loopholes, exemptions and exceptions for themselves and their friends.

How did this happen? No surprise, it’s all politics. Moneyed interests get “their” person elected to office across all levels; local, state, national. Moneyed interests, special interests don’t work alone, and work to spread their influence around so that, for instance, a large political action committee can fund campaigns for many candidates across all levels of government to build a network of elected officials who owe their election success to the financial support of these special interests. Bribery is bribery even in the form of “campaign contributions”.

And the elected officials claim they are not beholden to them.

It defies logic to think that anyone would donate large amounts of money, often $1,000,000 or more, and not expect anything in return.

* Whole countries fall into this wealth theft, but it is often extra-legal with military, cartel or militia enforcement.
